Kihei Surfside 613

On Nov 9, 2022 the resort will begin the installation of the infrastructure portion of the Air conditioning (AC) project, affecting the hallways of the building. They will begin on the 9th with the 2nd-floor hallway on the Mountain side of the building. This work includes grinding the edge of the walkways and drilling new holes in the concrete where the rails will be pushed outward toward the parking lot to allow for the AC condensers to the placed in the hallways. The above-mentioned work can and will be, at times, noisy. Work hours Mon-Fri 9am to 4pm. The project is slated to be completed late spring, early summer 2023. Additionally, a few condos throughout the resort are undergoing renovation projects.

Newly furnished and decorated oceanfront unit. Paradise-inspired décor mixed with traditional design. This 1 bedroom, 2 bath condo will accommodate up to 4 people with a queen bed in the bedroom and a queen pull-out sofa in the living room. The kitchen opens up to the living and dining area and is a great place to entertain, and the patio is perfect for watching whales breach in season. Bamboo lines the bottom of the kitchen counter and pineapples are carved into the back of the dining chairs. The tropical accents complement the soft colors and modern furnishings. Situated on the sixth floor, this unit provides an exceptional view of the Pacific Ocean and West Maui Mountains.

  Kihei Surfside is a Lovely property adjacent to a perfect family beach with great snorkeling. Unit 613 was a perfect size for our family. It was well apportioned with dishes and cookware. A king sized bed in the bedroom and more bath towels along with additional beach gear- umbrella / towels would have topped it for us. Maui Condo management provided great communication and follow up. We would stay again.

  Have stayed here before, great location, great views. Condo needs a thorough cleaning, hasn't been done in quite some time. We had to wash everything we touched in the Condo. Windows and glass on lanai were filthy, unacceptable. Who pays NOT to see the view at night. Would of been a "5" had the condo been cleaner. We had NO advance notice on the construction and noise. AND we will be back again!

  I gave the property a 3 in the general condition category because the dining room windows were so dirty that we couldn't enjoy the view out of them and the condo could have been better stocked -onlt one teaspoon, no beach towels or umbrella, ice maker in fridge didn't work (they did supply ice cube trays for us to fill ourselves). we felt for the price, it could have been better.

  We were so excited to stay at Kihei Surfside. From the pictures we saw on , and the reviews, it seemed like it would be a beautiful property. And while the location itself is stunning, the property left a lot to be desired. First off, there is NO AC, which is NOT noted on the profile page for this property. They sneakily say "ceiling fans" under a buried section in the description, which is somehow supposed to convey that there is not AC in the unit. When we brought this up to management when we checked in, they declined to refund us and we were forced to remain for 6 sleepless nights due to the temp in our room being close to 90 degrees every night. Needless to say, we never would have booked our stay here without AC. Additionally, the carpets were dirty and stained, the plastic cookware in the kitchen was cheap and melted in some cases, the bedding old, and the overall condition of the unit was pretty run down. Sad to say, but until they upgrade their units, I would stay away.

  Greag locale to beach/snorkeling, right out the condo and 50 yards from end of parking lot

  Pool with gazebo to hang out
  Close to boat ride rental place and close to shopping
  
  CONS:
  Internet service doesn't work in this unit. We had to enable cellular hotspot service on our phone and use the internet
  ROOSTERS The Roosters will start crowing between 2:30-3:30am every morning
  No AC, so you need to keep the windows open
  Since the windows need to be open, you will get no sleep once the roosters start
  They give you earplugs, they acknowledge it is that bad
  
  I don't think I would stay here again, the roosters were too much, I need sleep.

  Our unit was very dirty upon arrival and we could not see out the lanai or large dining room windows. We did call the caretakers of this unit and they did send someone over but did not clean any of the outside windows. The carpets had large stains in the living room as well. We have stayed at the Surfside for 10+ years and have never encountered this but the views were stunning as always!!
