Kihei Surfside 210

On Nov 9, 2022 the resort will begin the installation of the infrastructure portion of the Air conditioning (AC) project, affecting the hallways of the building. They will begin on the 9th with the 2nd-floor hallway on the Mountain side of the building. This work includes grinding the edge of the walkways and drilling new holes in the concrete where the rails will be pushed outward toward the parking lot to allow for the AC condensers to the placed in the hallways. The above-mentioned work can and will be, at times, noisy. Work hours Mon-Fri 9am to 4pm. The project is slated to be completed late spring, early summer 2023. Additionally, a few condos throughout the resort are undergoing renovation projects.

The two bathrooms were updated from floor to ceiling with extensive use of granite and tile. The bathroom offers a walk-in tiled shower (no tub). Additional sleeping option of a sofa sleeper in the living room allows for 4 guests maximum occupancy. Additional perk: free local and long-distance calls to US Mainland and Canada.

  I have stayed at Kihei Surfside since 1973! I personally have stayed at Kihei Surfside more than a dozen times in my lifetime. This year, we had other family members join us on Maui, and we rented a total of 3 condos. Two out of 3 condos were perfect. Condo #210 was not as nice (inadequate linens, stained bedding/carpet, mold/sand in shower, and both toilets had flushing problems). Customer service was very poor. I would not recommend this unit to others nor do I recommend Maui Condo and Home as if there is a problem, their response to fix it is poor. I stayed in this unit for 14 days. I reported the toilet issues on 2nd day. Handyman came quickly but could not fix issue. 12 days later, we were told plumber was coming, but plumber said he could not fix. On the day we left, plumber returned to change out the toilets' mechanisms. We were packing up and left while plumber still in unit repairing toilets. I will not rent from Maui Home and Condo again. There are other property management companies that rent units a t Kihei Surfside, and I would rent from them. Other vacationers we met were very pleased with their units and they rented from various other property management companies that handle the majority of the condos at Kihei Surfside.

  We totally love the Kihei Surfside and have rented through Maui condo and home for years. they used to be really great but unfortunately the service seems to have become inconsistent. We were astonished to find there are no beach towels and were told this is up to the owner. I think Maui Condo and Home needs to have some standards all owners they take on must abide by. Beach towels are standard and basic. Also while there were many great amenities, some basics such as only 2 coffee/tea mugs were not great. however once we called about it, some were brought and that was great and additional towells (bath) also brought. but it did seem a struggle. when you are paying this top dollar you do expect not to have to ask for things that are just basic.

  When we arrived the screen door to the lanai was broken, there were no forks or cutting boards, three spoons but plenty of knives. At this price, the guests shouldn't have to call to have these things fixed/delivered. We do appreciate that the management company responded right away. When we stayed at Kihei Surfside before we also received better soap/shampoo/conditioner. You can tell management has changed.

  Overall, we were pretty happy with the condo. The view was magnificent and the outdoor areas of the property were exceptionally well maintained. There was no air-conditioning but there always seemed to be a very nice breeze, however, humidity was a problem. The parking lot and walkway are on the bedroom window side, and since it was imparitive to have the window open for cooling, conversations could clearly be heard. There are laundry facilities on the property but not in the condo. Neither toilet flushed properly. Kitchen supplies were rather sparse. The condo was acceptably clean and we're pretty picky about places being clean

  Very convenient, walking distance to amazing beaches; great view, very clean. The sofa bed is very uncomfortable, do not use it for sleeping, it gave me lower back ache!

  Great location, decent value, property manager is a great communicator. The sleeper couch needs to be replaced, towels all need to be replaced and beach towels added. Basic amenities need to be added like dishwasher detergent, napkins, coffee filters, better/more soaps in shower.
